Hello world!
June 30th, 2009 by afoceslWelcome to this new blog for ESL at AFOC on Edublogs. Thanks again for using this blog!

“Blog” is verbal short-hand for “web-log.” The web (or “world wide web”) is a name for the portion of the Internet visible using a graphical-user-interface (”GUI” — pronounced “gooey”) browser based on hyper-text. A “log” in this meaning is a kind of daily journal or record book. You may know that term from the “captain’s log” on the Starship Enterprise (in the Star Trek movies and TV series). The purpose of this web-log (blog) is not to boldly go into outer space, but for you to learn more English!
